Cooke County Medical Center, formerly the office of Khawaja Anwar, MD, was purchased by North Texas Medical Center (NTMC) in July 2010.
The clinic provides care for the entire family—children through adults—as well as minor emergency treatment, such as laceration repair. The clinic can also provide wellness exams, including sport and school physicals, women's exams, and preventive immunizations such as flu and tetanus vaccines.
The clinic is located at 801 N. Grand Avenue, across from Hogan's Jiffy Lube.
Appointments, including same-day sick appointments, are available, and the clinic is accepting new patients!
The clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances, as well as cash payment.

- Anemia and fatigue.
- Asthma and COPD.
- Diabetes management.
- Common skin disorders and wart removal.
- Minor emergency care issues (such as laceration repairs).

Cooke County Medical Center is open:
- Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cooke County Medical Center is staffed by family medicine physician David Ko, M.D., Physician Assistant Brenda Anderle and Nurse Practitioners Jill Fuhrmann and Polly Klement.
Brenda Anderle, PA-C
Truly a "hometown girl", Brenda Anderle is a well-known name in local healthcare, serving as a physician assistant with Sears Medical Associates since 1994, and doing additional work with North Texas Medical Center (hospitalist program) since 2009.
Brenda holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a certificate for completion of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas.
She is licensed with the Texas State Board of Medicine and certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Jill Fuhrmann, RN, BSN, MS, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Jill Fuhrmann has come home again—returning to the place where she started her career as a nurse in 1988.
Jill is entering her 25th year in healthcare. A registered nurse on both the medical floors and in the surgery department of Gainesville Memorial Hospital (now NTMC) from 1988 to 2004, Jill returned to school in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2005 and a Master of Science degree in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas Woman’s University in Denton in 2008.
A native of Lindsay and the mother of 4, Jill has built a solid relationship within the community. She prides herself on her positive attitude and people skills, which only enhance her ability to provide high quality care and serve as the patient's advocate.
Polly Klement, RN, BSN, MS, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Polly Klement is the newest addition to the CCMC staff. A native of Muenster, Texas, Polly brings a desire to provide high quality care to a variety of patients.
Like Jill, Polly began her career in healthcare by earning her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2005 from North Central Texas College. In 2006, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and in 2010, Polly completed her Master of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
