Donate to NTMC Foundation One of the greatest rewards in life is the ability to help others. This is the premise of the North Texas Medical Center Foundation. The NTMC Foundation exists to assist North Texas Medical Center in serving the community's healthcare needs in the years to come. The Foundation, established as the Gainesville Memorial Hospital Endowment Fund, was developed during the 1980's, when hospitals experienced severely reduced reimbursements on both the state and federal levels. At that time, it became essential to create a vehicle to handle donations to assist the hospital with purchases of needed equipment and funding of building and improvement projects, all of which are designed to offer the residents of Cooke County the best possible healthcare. Two decades later, the NTMC Foundation serves as a bridge between the community and NTMC, working with both to identify and address real needs. As a non-profit corporation, the Foundation is able to plan, direct and manage projects and activities designed to build a greater public understanding and increased philanthropic support of North Texas Medical Center. Support for the hospital is actively sought through grant writing, major gift solicitation, corporate and foundation support, capital campaigns, planned giving, special events and individual gifts. Those named were local physicians Richard Jolly and Bhupinder Khaira, Dr. Joe E. Barns of Texoma Pathology and Dr. John Antonetti of Dallas. Donations may be earmarked for particular projects or invested in an endowment from which the interest earned is utilized toward medical equipment purchases.
